A certain company is a technology-based enterprise specializing in the research and development and production of precious metal catalysts. Relying on the strong R&D capabilities and state-of-the-art research instruments of Zhejiang University of Technology, the company utilizes unique solvent-free catalysts, allowing for multiple recycling of its products. Currently, it has successfully developed dozens of supported precious metal catalysts, with main products including palladium-on-carbon catalysts, palladium-alumina catalysts, platinum-on-carbon catalysts, platinum-alumina catalysts, ruthenium-on-carbon catalysts, rhodium-on-carbon catalysts, and iridium-on-carbon catalysts. These products are widely used in the catalytic organic synthesis and tail gas treatment of fine chemicals in many fields such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, fragrances, and liquid crystals. Simultaneously, the company possesses the qualifications for recycling various types of waste platinum group metal catalysts, silver-containing waste catalysts, gold-containing waste catalysts, and three-way catalytic converters containing precious metals and hazardous waste.

Project Name: Comprehensive Catalyst Recycling Project;
Raw Materials: Crude platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, and ruthenium from catalysts.
Process Principles:
Palladium Refining: Palladium dissolution, palladium precipitation, ammonia complexation, acidification precipitation, hydrazine hydrate reduction;
Platinum Refining: Dissolution, platinum precipitation, calcination, hydrolysis, filtration, palladium removal, platinum precipitation, calcination;
Dissolution, selective precipitation, formic acid reduction, calcination, and hydrogen reduction;
Rhodium Refining: Ruthenium material is prepared by distillation – absorption with hydrochloric acid and ethanol solution – ruthenium powder is precipitated in the absorbent – calcination – hydrogen reduction;
Iridium Refining: Alkali fusion separation, aqua regia dissolution, oxidation precipitation, aqua regia dissolution, sulfidation for impurity removal, oxidation precipitation, calcination reduction, and calcination cooling to obtain iridium oxide powder.
